Managing Templates¶
Templates enable you to quickly create pages, widgets and containers, without the need to redesign and reconfigure them.
Prerequisites¶
You need to be assigned the required asset permission and operation permission, and a menu group containing the Dashboards > Dashboards, Dashboards > Page Template and Dashboards > Widget Template menus. If not assigned, contact the application administrator.
Page Template¶
Pages designed for specific business scenarios can be saved as page templates to enable subsequent pages to be created quickly for the same scenario.
Creating a Page Template¶
Note
Before you create a template, you must already have a project to store it in.
Create a project by following these steps:
Select Dashboards > Dashboard Template from the left navigation pane.
Select New Project.
Enter the name of the project in Name.
Select OK to create the project.
Create a page template by following these steps:
There are two ways to create a template:
Select New Template.
Select an existing project. Select the empty card with a plus sign in the middle.
Complete the following configurations in the pop-up window:
Name: Type the name of the template.
Project: Select the project you want the template to be in.
Select OK to create the template.
Note
You can also create a page template by:
Hovering over an existing page in the Dashboards, hover over Actions and select Save as Template.
Hovering over the ellipsis (…) and select Save as Template on the toolbar of Page Editor.
Editing a Page Template¶
Edit a page template by following these steps:
Configuring Page Template Settings¶
You can configure or view relevant information of a page template for your purposes.
Configure a page template by following these steps:
Locate the page card you want to configure, and hover over the Action to open a dropdown menu.
Select Settings to configure or view the following configurations and information:
Name: Edit the template name.
Tag (Optional): Select a tag for the page from the list or by creating one.
Select OK to save the configurations. ### Using Page Templates
You can use the template to create new pages.
Create a page by following these steps:
Locate the page card you want to use, and hover over the Action to open a dropdown menu.
Select New Page and complete the new page configurations in the pop-up window.
Select OK to create a new page in the dashboard using the template.
Widget Template¶
Similar to page templates, widget templates are used to save the data source and style configuration of a single widget. The configuration can be done quickly by reusing existing widget templates when developing and creating pages.
Creating a Widget Template¶
Note
Before you create a template, you must already have a project to store it in.
Create a project by following these steps:
Select Dashboards > Widget Template on the left navigation pane.
Select New Project.
Project Name: Type the name of the project.
Select OK to create the project.
Create a widget template by following these steps:
There are two ways to create a template:
Select New Template.

Project Name:
For New Template, select the project you want the template to be in.
For an existing project, the project is selected and cannot be changed.
Template Name: Type the name of the template.
Tag (Optional): Select a tag for the template from the list or by creating one.
Select OK to create the template.
Note
You can also create a widget template by:
Hovering over a widget in Page Editor, hover over the ellipsis (…) and select Save as Template.
Clicking on Save as Template in Chart Editor.
Editing a Widget Template¶
Edit a widget template by following these steps:
Hover over the widget template card you want to edit.
Select Edit to access the Chart Editor. For more information, see Chart Editor. For a container template, you will be directed to Container Settings.
Configuring Widget Template Settings¶
You can configure or view relevant information of a widget template for your purposes.
Configure a widget template by following these steps:
Hover over the widget template card you want to configure and hover over the ellipsis (…) on the bottom right. A dropdown menu will appear.
Select Settings to configure or view the following configurations and information:
Template Name: Edit the template name.
Tag (Optional): Select a tag for the template from the list or by creating one.
Visibility: There are two modes available:
Internal: Template will not be visible to users from other OUs.
Public: Template will be visible to users from other OUs.
Created: Shows the person who created the template and the date and time of creation.
Last Updated: Shows the person who last edited the template and the date and time of the last edit.
Select OK to save the configurations.
