Adding Widgets in Dashboards

A widget is the smallest configurable unit in a visualization page, capable of displaying and analyzing data in various ways, with each widget used to present a business metric. Based on their functions and purposes, widgets are divided into two types: charts and containers. For more information, see Widget Overview.

Prerequisites

Before you start, make sure a dashboard page has been created, and the current account has editing permission for the corresponding page. If not assigned, contact the group administrator.

Adding Widgets

  1. On the dashboard editing interface, select Add in the upper-left corner, and select Widget from the dropdown options.

  2. Choose one of the following ways to add a widget to the page:

  • Add a widget from the Basic Widgets tab in the popup window and define the widget’s data, style, and other settings from scratch.

  • Add a widget template from the Widget Templates tab in the popup window, and reuse the template configuration.

Managing Widgets in the Hidden Box

After a widget is configured, if you need to temporarily hide it from the page, follow these steps to move the widget to the Hidden Box:

  1. In the navigation pane on the left, select DTV Center > Dashboards.

  2. Hover over the page card and select Edit to open the page editor.

  3. In the page editor, hover over the ellipsis icon (…) in the upper-left corner of the widget, and select Move to Hidden Box from the dropdown menu.

You can select Hidden Box in the top toolbar of the page editor to open a popup and view the widgets hidden on this page. To display a hidden widget on the page again, select the widget in the Hidden Box popup and select the Restore button.

More Configurations

The widget configuration steps for dashboards are the same as for single-page applications. For details, see Configuring Widgets in Single-Page Applications.

You can perform the following configurations on widgets:

  • View widget position

  • Move widgets

  • Save as a template

  • Delete widgets

  • Duplicate a chart

  • Add a chart to a container

  • Remove a chart from a container

Next Step

After adding a widget, you can further configure its data, style, layout, and other settings. For details of each configuration item, see Configuring Containers and Configuring Charts.
